If you're in the Bay area, or I like you (A LOT), I have cd's created with the tracks split. I am also including the track list here in case there is a song you just have to grab the info for.

Great Analogy... Read this in a book about the history of DJ'ing

The Audience
Some are ravers—high schoolers, college students. Some are what society calls young professionals,in their 20s and 30s, with 9-to-5 jobs. Some are young, but not so professional aspiring artists, actors, athletes, musicians, DJs, or writers, making ends meet at a day job somewhere so they can pursue their passion in between, on the side.

What brings them together is they like to go out at night, move to good music, have a good time in a room, club, warehouse, or field with a bunch of other people having a good time. Maybe they go to the club to get lost (or found) in the music, to forget their other life. Maybe they go to celebrate: a new job, new love, new friends, the weekend, coming of age. Some say they go to capture that sense of community, of shared ecstasy.

Point is: they go. They dance. They listen. They get lost for a while on the dance floor. They take part in an ancient, time-honored ritual—dance—for all the reasons humanity has ever danced.

It’s tribal. It’s cultural. It’s communal. It’s spiritual. It’s about transcendence, transformation, transfixion. It’s about release. To some, it’s about PLUR: peace, love, unity, and respect. To some, it’s about passion, play, sex, mating, and fun. It’s about them—the audience and their self-expression through dance. It always has been.

!!! Gmail Tips !!!

Google has revealed "New! Gmail Tips" at the top right corner of everyone's gmail account page. Revealed in this 4-level run-down of Google's Gmail features are several time-saving and organizational improvements one can implement to increase the functionality of the email inbox.

The 4 levels are based off of a Ninja scale; the simplest tips being listed under the white-belt tab, and the most advanced being listed under the Gmail Master tab. I have been using Gmail for years now and appreciate the dialed down, simplistic approach that Google has maintained. Recently, I have begun to make use of more advanced filters and labels which help me sort through and manage my email inbox much more efficiently.

Running through each of the tabs will not only help you learn some new tricks to help manage spam, label emails, filter messages, etc, but will explain some of the other inner workings and additional features the ominous Gmail has to offer. Check it out, I greatly enjoyed the read!

Fun With Macs

Hey everyone, welcome to ryLectro! Home of music, tips, and more! I will be posting more and more about music, software, nightlife, everything and anything I can fathom anyone would want to know and read about. I will be including links to hot electro trax, pictures from events, links to videos and much much more. Also, I would like to start sharing some of the things that I have been learning with my macbook to help people who are also making the switch from Windows as I recently have. Today I decided to start this blog to keep track of odds and ends that I come up upon in my daily life.

My tidbit for today will be a rather short but amazingly useful tip that I just found on accident while cleaning my keyboard of all things.

I have a late 2008 macbook aluminum body running 2.4ghz intel with 4 gb of ram and Mac OS X 10.5.6.

While using the Finder, you can select a file (.doc, .docx, .ppt, .pdf, .mp3, .htm, .css, .png, .jpeg, .gif, .sql, .txt to name a few that I tried), PRESS SPACEBAR, and get a full working preview of the content. Pressing the spacebar will bring up a preview window you can scroll through if there are multiple pages/slides for text documents or presentations; a media player you can preview mp3's with; web pages preview as the web page itself, not the code.

I will continue to share my tips as I come up on them, and problems and solutions I run into while configuring my mac and virtual windows machine. Some of the software that I'll be blogging on includes VirtualDj, Traktor Pro, Parallels (WindowsXP and Vista) and I'd also like to get into new music and DJ'ing on a laptop. Eventually some producing of electronic dance music (EDM) as soon as I find the time to sit and learn some new trades as well.
